On May 30, 2012, Ms. Iris Arbel, CEO of Kardan Water, was invited by the 1st China Beijing International Fair which was organized by the Ministry of Commerce to participate the Israeli Day activity and gave a presentation on Israeli water treatment technology which can help to solve the problems of water shortage and water pollution in Beijing and other cities in China.
Ms. Iris Arbel, CEO of Kardan Water (KW) and Chairman of China-Israel Water Forum mentioned that China’s water resources are insufficient and unequally distributed. According to the information of the World Bank, China’s water resource at 2,124 m3 per capita represents only one quarter of the world average, which is 8,442m3 per capita. China water market’s acute needs are to provide safe drinking water to all communities, treat waste water, improve agriculture irrigation efficiency and water reclamation, etc. and Israel owns leading solutions on all these aspects.
Ms. Iris Arbel also introduced that Israeli Government is currently promoting to build a China-Israel Water Technology Demonstration Center with a hope to encouragte and support Israeli water treatment technology and services to develop in China.
Kardan Water is the operational platform of Israeli TAHAL Group in the Chinese market. KW develops, operates and invests in water related projects in Mainland China, focusing on water treatment, waste water treatment, water reclamation, etc. Currently, KW owns 12 water projects across four provinces in China, among which Xuanhua Project Company and Dingzhou Project Company in Hebei Province and Zibo Project Company in Shandong Province have started delivering treated water to nearby power station and local artificial lake for cooling water and gardening water respectively, and have realized a scientific recycling and reclamation and water resources.
